The initial ScaleGate application form does not ask for passport scans, bank statements or immigration documents. Please do not submit those materials unless ScaleGate later requests them through an appropriate secure channel.

• Responding to enquiries and assessing applications: steps taken at your request before a possible contract, and/or our legitimate interests in evaluating potential engagements.
• Operating, securing and protecting the website against misuse: our legitimate interests and, where applicable, legal duties.
• Delivering services under a signed proposal or engagement agreement: performance of that contract.
• Meeting legal, accounting and administrative duties: legal obligation.
• Optional ScaleGate news and any non-essential analytics: your consent.

Consent is not the legal basis for everything we do. Marketing consent is entirely optional, can be withdrawn at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect how an application is assessed.

Access is limited to authorised ScaleGate team members and to service providers that are genuinely necessary to operate the website, host the application data and communicate with you.

Submitting the website form does not lodge an application with the IND or RVO, and your information is not automatically sent to any government body, facilitator or partner.

If information ever needs to be shared in connection with a Dutch start-up residence-permit matter, that sharing requires a lawful basis, clear information to you and a separately confirmed arrangement.

Where a service provider processes information outside the European Economic Area, we only do so with an appropriate legal transfer mechanism in place. Specific transfers and their safeguards are confirmed with each provider; you can ask us for the current position at info@scalegate.org.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this notice, or for as long as the law requires. You can ask us what applies to your own information at info@scalegate.org.

We use organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No internet service can promise absolute security. Uploaded pitch decks are stored in non-public storage and are accessed only by authorised ScaleGate reviewers.

Depending on the situation, you may have the right to access your personal information, correct it, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent you have given.

To exercise a right, contact info@scalegate.org. We may need to confirm your identity before acting.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl (opens in a new tab).

This website uses only storage that is necessary for it to work — for example remembering your display preference in your browser and, where relevant, keeping a secure session. This information stays in your browser and is not used to build advertising profiles.

The website currently loads no optional analytics, advertising or tracking technologies, so there is nothing optional for you to accept or reject. If that changes, we will ask for your consent before any such technology loads and update this notice.

Booking a call opens Calendly on its own website in a new tab. No Calendly script or tracker runs on this site; Calendly handles that visit under its own privacy terms.

We update this notice when our practices or the applicable rules change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page changes whenever an updated version is approved and published.
